My Goals for 2016
Apart from the obvious hopes for the coming year of good health and happiness and lot of the usual parenting, I have a few other goals up my sleeve. Here goes:
#1 – Build the Blog:- This will take a lot of tenacity in the New year. I have already spent hours online watching and reading tutorials about about sitemaps, linking, sharing, liking, joining blog networks – the mind boggles but I can’t wait to step up to the plate.
#2 – Travel: – 2016 started well with a fabulous trip to Watamu on the Kenya coast. The place was packed and tons of fun. Our eldest daughter went skydiving, husband and second daughter went kitesurfing. Will tell you more about that later. Going forward, I would love this year to be full of exciting travel and plans for the first few months have already been laid.
#3 – Do a job that I love: – Working freelance is a mixed bag. This year, I would love to be able to pick and choose interesting projects and overall, invest the time in building up my own business ideas.
#4 – Learn to Play Tennis: – This is very random and part of the ‘try something new’ philosophy. The opportunity is there but is the will? Tennis could be sociable and a lot of fun. Shame I have no idea how to return the ball… yet….
#5 – Detox: – I’ve never tried this before but it’s something that I should definitely give a go in the first part of this year. I heard of a 9 day aloe vera detox? Research starts tomorrow.
#6 – Learn a Language: – Or at least endeavor to improve my knowledge of a language. French, I have my sights set on you. Being an expat has its benefits…
#7 – Photography: – Get to grips with my new, fancy camera and take some fantastic pics.
Good luck with the first weeks of 2016 – Can’t wait for the fun to start!
P.S. So – it did rain on Christmas day and after much rearranging of tables and chairs we all ate inside the house. But by the time the lunch was ready – the sun was blazing in the garden and we had to close the curtains to reduce the glare. Oh well. We had a fantastic day and the ‘pot luck’ approach Christmas lunch was a real win. One benefit of eating indoors was that were still sitting around the table long after the sun went down. Will we be hosting again this year? Let’s wait and see.
